On Wednesday 28 May Food from the Sea had its Shetland launch. The Shetland Museum auditorium was packed to hear Shetland broadcaster, Claire White, interview me about my new book. The event was ably introduced by well-known author Donald Murray. There were lots of great questions and an opportunity to do some readings from my book.

My reading about the Norwegian war hero Abalone Møgster, who is an ongoing inspiration to many Norwegian woman fishers, went down well with the Shetland audience. The story about how Michelle Franze and other young women salmon farmers from British Columbia, were violently abused online by anti-salmon farming campaigners also resonated given the importance of salmon farming to Shetland.
When introducing me, Claire White made the very good point that this book is not actually about fish; it is about the many people involved in the seafood industry. The story of seafood, its challenges and opportunities, are told through their experiences
The London launch will take place on 9 June in Watermans Hall.
