My new book, Food from the Sea - The Future of Seafood, was launched in London earlier this week. An audience of seafood people, supporters from the NGO community, academics and journalists were able to hear Kara Brydson from Fisheries Innovation Sustainability interview me. Some great questions from Kara and the audience as well as an opportunity for me to read some of my favourite passages from the book.
I was able to explain that this is not actually a book about seafood. It is a collection of stories about the people who make their living from seafood – the last of the hunters and the first of the ocean farmers – as well as everyone else who work to make the seafood truly sustainable.

The evening ended with Angus MacPhail of Skipinnish making an impromptu appearance to sing the The Clearances Again – the song that galvanised Scotland’s opposition to the disastrous Highly Protected Marine Areas proposals.
